Places and monuments

Located near the confluence of the Cère (river) and the Jordanne , Aurillac is a good entry point for exploring the Cantal mountains via the route des crêtes and the Jordanne valley. To the west of the city stretches the Aurillac basin: this sector is home to a vast wetland of great interest: the Cassan Prentegarde marsh located in the municipalities of Saint-Étienne-Cantalès , Saint-Paul-des-Landes and Lacapelle-Viescamp .
