The Helderse Vallei is a green, healthy place where everyone is welcome to just ‘be’ there. If you want, you can also do something or meet others. And if you are open to it, you will experience the impact your own behavior has on the future of the natural environment.

The strength of De Helderse Vallei is making major ecological challenges small and manageable for a large audience. De Helderse Vallei provides information, sustainable examples and demonstrates it itself.

City
farm Our farm has always been there for young and old. Not only families with children visit the animals, the farm is also easily accessible for the elderly and visitors with a disability.

De Helderse Vallei is building new facilities for the shelter of injured or sick wild animals.

Governance and remuneration

The foundation is managed by managing director, Mrs. K. van Spronsen. There is a Supervisory Board with three members: Mr. R. Wijnia (chairman), Mrs. M. van den Berg and Mrs. R. de Wit-Brandsma. The director-administrator is employed by the Stichting De Helderse Vallei. The main source of income for the foundation is a subsidy from the municipality of Den Helder, and there is also income from activities and fundraising. Members of the Supervisory Board do not receive any remuneration for their activities.
