Geographical garden in Kolding is one of the city’s green oases – here is plenty of space to enjoy nature for both children and adults. Explore Japan, China, Korea, North America, Canada and South America in the 12-hectare botanical garden. The garden is 100 years old and has more than 2000 different species of plants from most of the world.
Geographical Garden – go on a green discovery in the middle of Kolding
Geographical Garden is a 14 ha large adventure park and botanical garden with more than 2000 different trees, shrubs, plants and zoos.
A 100-year-old garden with large old trees, sculpted shrubs and a variety of perennials, herbs and not least roses can be seen in the garden. You can experience the award-winning Rosenhave with over 500 roses, a rosary with historical roses and a number of wild roses, introduced by Aksel Olsen, the garden’s founder. In Syvdalen, exciting nature experiences await with caves, streams and chirping birdsong.
The garden has many guests of all ages. The little ones are especially happy with the garden’s animal fold with pet goats, ponies, chickens and other animals. There are 2 playgrounds and a jungle trail where you can go exploring.
A very special experience is Kolding Miniby, which is a collection of 400 miniature houses that illustrate the urban environment that was in Kolding city in the period from 1860 to 1870. All houses are built by pensioners and early retirees who like to tell about this special area in the garden.
In the idea gardens you can get inspiration for your own garden. There is an organic kitchen garden, a nature garden, a herb garden and several other gardens.
As a guest, you have the opportunity to rent Geografisk Have’s completely unique premises in the Greenhouse and the various pavilions for private events, including weddings, business meetings and children’s birthdays.
Throughout the season there are a multitude of events with activities, tours, workshops, exercise, herbs, barbecue, etc. Separate activities can always be ordered if you are a larger company.
You can bring your own food basket or visit our café Lykkefund, where we are open every day throughout the summer and tempt you with delicacies such as pastries, garden tapas, organic gourmet ice cream and cool drinks, beer, water and wine.
