Kragujevac is surrounded with rich hunting grounds of big and small game. It has the central place in the hunting map of Serbia and it has three hunting grounds. On the territory of Kragujevac there are two hunting societies, “Sumadija” from Kragujevac (the oldest society in Serbia) and “Srebrnica” from Stragari. One part of the hunting ground “Rudnik”, the Lumber camp “Kragujevac”, is managed by PC “Srbijasume” from Belgrade.
The specificity of the hunting ground “Lepenica” is the possession of its own pheasant farm, which is the biggest one in Sumadija and Pomoravlje. On this farm, around 40.000 of common pheasants are produced annually. The hunting ground “Srebrnica” has two specific kinds of game, untypical for this area and those are musk ox and fallow deer.

On the territory of Kragujevac, there’s a possibility of fishing in lakes (in Kragujevac and outside of it), and in the mountain rivers as well. Beautiful nature, peace and rich fishing founds, give great opportunities for fishing. Lakes Gruza, Bubanj, Sumarice, as well as the lake in Stragari and mountain rivers Jasenica, Srebrnica and Kamenicka, are available for the fishermen. The most common fish are: carp, Catfish, pike, babushka, roach, carp, Amur, perch, bream, trench, chub, barbell, and brown trout.
Bubanj lake is located in the urban zone of the city. It has 3.55 acres. The most dominant fish are: pike, roach, carp, and catfish.

Jasenica River (84.7km) is the most water-rich river in Sumadija. Fish stocks: chub, barbell, bleak.
Srebrnica River (12km) is a clean mountain river. The most common fish are: chub, barbell, bleak. There’s also a brown trout, which indicates a low level of pollution of the river.

Aquarium
Aquarium in Kragujevac is the first public aquarium in Serbia. It is located on the premises of the Faculty for Science and Mathematics. On over 300 square meters, more than 400 aquariums are exhibited. Their total volume is over 60.000 of liters.
The visitors of aquarium can see the living world of inland waters from Serbia and Balkans, as well as tropical and subtropical areas of Asia, Africa, South America and Australia. The fish from our streams, rivers and lakes are represented, as well as exotic tropical fish. Besides fish there are amphibians, reptiles and different types of invertebrates.

Botanical garden
The main role of the Botanical garden is to preserve the variety of flora, that is, to preserve the biodiversity. It extends across the surface of over 18 acres. At the entrance to the Botanical garden, there’s one area where scouts’ camps and different manifestations are being held. There are several zones in the garden in which are planted different species from Asia, Europe and Balkans. There are information boards in every zone and in front of plants there are nametags and origin info.
There is also a labyrinth that contributes to the richness of the Botanical garden, that’s currently under construction, and that’s made of our indigenous species. The Serbian (Panciceva) spruce, our local endemic specie, can be found there, also.

Grosnica Lake
Grosnica Lake (Vodojaza) – is an artificial lake on the river Grosnica, built in the period of 1931- 1938. as a water supply of Kragujevac. The name “Vodojaza” came from the terms “partition” and “water”. It is in the first zone of sanitary protection. That means that all activities on the lake are forbidden (fishing, swimming, camping…). Even in spite of that, the area around the lake has been the favorite place for variety of pick-nick activities of citizens of Kragujevac, for years.

Lower or Small Park is located in the city center, within the Milosev Venac complex, next to the City Market hall. The park has a small area, it is decorated with flower alleys and paths. In its central part there is a Monument to the fallen soldiers of Šumadija.
