Asnières-sur-Seine

Asnières-sur-Seine is a commune in the Hauts-de-Seinedepartment and Île-de-Franceregion of north-central France. It lies on the left bank of the river Seine, some eight kilometres from the centre of Paris in the north-western suburbs of the French capital.

Asnières and painting 

Many artists, mainly impressionists, painted Asnières and its banks: Emile Bernard, Claude Monet , Auguste Renoir , Georges Seurat , Paul Signac , Vincent van Gogh , etc.

  • The Château d’Asnières hosts exhibitions, for example the 1972/2009 retrospective exhibition by Dominique Mulhem.
