Badacsonytomaj is a village in the Hungarian county of Veszprém with 2,341 inhabitants, as of 2011. It is located at the eastern foot of the volcanic Badacsony hill along the Lake Balaton in Hungary.
The greatest sight in the village is that of the hill itself, with its spectacular 60−70 m high basalt organs. The region around the town is well known for its high quality Hungarian wines.
The town’s name was recently used in a viral promotion by Sony to promote a new feature in their PlayStation 3 Home Service. The viral campaign consisted of billboards being placed around Europe with various letters on them. Players had to piece together the letters and use the resulting word as a code.
As a municipality, it includes the smaller villages of Badacsonyörs and Badacsony as well as the town center of Badacsonytomaj.
Location
It is located along the main road 71 , on the western part of the northern shore of Lake Balaton , at the foot of Badacsony . Most of Badacsony Hill is located in the settlement, the administrative area of the settlement consists of the ancient village center of Tomaj and Badacsonyörs , as well as the Badacsony settlement, which consists mainly of vineyards and wine houses, restaurants and holiday buildings, the latter being the famous entertainment district.

It can be reached by train on the Székesfehérvár – Tapolca railway line . Railway stops: Badacsonyörs (formerly Kisörs), Badacsonytomaj and Badacsony (formerly Badacsony-Hableány).
It can be reached by water through the high-traffic boat station and sailing port in the Badacsony settlement in summer.

- The Egry József Memorial Museum (The house of the painter of Lake Balaton has been operating as a museum since 1973, the artist’s paintings and periodical exhibitions of contemporary artists can be seen here).
- The Hertelendy-Békássy mansion ; the Szépkilátó Winery is located in the house. The mansion was originally owned by Gábor Hertelendy ( 1900 – 1979 ) from Hertelend and Vindornyalak , a landowner and his wife, Klára Békássy from Békás ( 1901 – 1989 ). 2018 .
- The Hertelendy wine bar ; the Kisfaludy House is opposite the restaurant. Miss Vios Nemesvitai, a local landowner founded by a descendant of an old Zala family; The wine bar was named after the mother-in-law of the owner , after the mistress Ákos Dervarics of Egyházasbük after the mistress Rozália Hertelendy ( 1822 – 1850 ) from Hertelend and Vindornyalak .
