The only restored 17th century Town Hall in Latvia. It was built up with private funds of the burgomaster and mayor’s council and at that times was the largest and most grand City Hall in the entire Duchy of Courland and Zemgale.

Mežotne Hillfort
Mezotne Hillfort is situated on the left bank of the Lielupe River opposite the Mezotne Palace. It is one of the largest fortifications of the 9th-13th century Semigallians. Next to the Hillfort – Mezote Church (not restored!) and the family cemetery of the owners of Mezotne Palace – princes von Lieven. Traditionally on the third Saturday of May Mezotne Hillfort Festivity is held here. “The Bright Ant’s Trail” has been set up in Mezotne Hillfort since 2017 and it offers various activities. Here you can find out about the unique nature inhabitants of the castle mound – the bright ant, hermit beetle, grass-snake, woodpecker, stork and the bat.

After the reconstruction Riga Motor Museum branch establishment opened in Bauska in July, 2011. When visiting the southern region of Latvia, pay a visit to the Motor Museum in Bauska. We offer new and well-organized premises with more than 60 old-timers, including agricultural and special military vehicles.
In one of the exhibition halls you can glance at motorcars used in the 30ies and postwar years by bourgeois when going for a ride to the countryside. The second exhibition hall offers a chance to feel the atmosphere of Latvian countryside of the 20ies and 30ies.

The Museum of the poet Vilis Plūdonis (1874-1940) lies on a picturesque bank of River Mēmele. In the dwelling house an exhibition is being displayed which is devoted to the poets life and literary heritage. It is noteworthy to look into a little bathouse which is called by one of the poems of V. Plūdonis ”Rabits bath”, household buliding and collections of ethnographic articles and carts.

The Brukna manor house and a few more estate buildings (two granaries and a cattle house) are situated opposite the Brukna castle mound and the artificial pond on the bank of the Iecava River. The 19th century complex of estate buildings has started a new life by giving a home ti the Catholic youth camps and housing the rehabilitation centre for drug addicts.

We, the owners of Rožmalas, are farmers at heart and want to show our visitors how agriculture has developed over the centuries, from ancient times up to modern day technology. We have created a wonderful exhibition in the Ribbes windmill – ‘The Path of the Grain’. We appreciate the heritage our ancestors left us – the Ribbes windmill– which is not just ours but a part of the community and a source of pride for the region, helping to revive the landscape of the Bauska region.The design of the windmill with its equipment and details have been developed and tested over centuries. This complex building is a monument to our ancestors heritage and work ethic.
