History and geography
Nin is the oldest Croatian royal town. It is 14 km north-west from Zadar. It is situated in a shallow lagoon, surrounded by sandy beaches and the very center of the old town is situated on a island with a diameter of about 500m, connected to the land with two bridges.
Due to many sunny days and high sea temperature, bathing tourism lasts from May to September. It is the biggest find of medicinal mud Peloid in Croatia and one of the most important archeological finds in Croatia.
Nin is 3000 years old, founded by the Illyrian tribe of Liburnians in 9th century B.C. under the name Enona. During the Roman Empire, Nin is an important municipium and sea port under the name Aenona. In 7th century, upon the arrival of Croats to this area, it becomes their first political, cultural and religious center.
Camping Ninska Laguna, Nin, Zadar, Croatia
Camping Ninska Laguna is located in Croatia next to 5km long natural sandy beach, 14 km north-west from Zadar, in the historical town of Nin. This beach, also called the “Queen’s beach”, is the beach that german ADAC had ranked at the very top of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia. As part of the beach there is Peloid mud. Beach is especially suitable for families with small children.
The whole area of Nin is an oasis of long sandy beaches. Total length of Nin sandy beaches is 10 km. The longest beach is the “Queen’s beach” extending just below the camp Ninska Laguna.
On the beach there are several beach bars, volleyball fields and showers.
The area right in front of the camp is a shallow lagoon where you can walk. It is a suitable and safe place for children. Adults and swimmers can find a place for themselves in other parts of the beach.
Medicinal mud Peloid, Zadar, Nin
Peloid medicinal mud is part of sandy beach 200m far from the camp.
Peloid mud consists of humus and minerals formed after desintegration of different plants through years of natural process in salty sea of shallow lagoon.
It has been used for centuries as treatment or alleviation of different rheumatic disorders, arthritis, sciatica, skin diseases, infertility in women and healthy people use it for fun and taking pictures.
Every year thousands of people, many of which have alleviated or completely cured their diseases, visit this place. The use and the extraction are free and accessible to all. Since it is being extracted from its natural environment, it’s always fresh and high quality.
Usage of Peloid
Before using it, everyone should consult a medically qualified person about the use. Therapy usually lasts for about 20 days in a way that every day the sick spot is coated with a thin layer of mud, then it dries in the sun approximately 35 minutes and after it is washed in a warm shallow sea. The Sun is a very important factor.
Use at your own responsibility. Area of heart and kidneys is not recommended for coating.

In the camp you stay in comfortable, peaceful natural environment and relaxed atmosphere approximately 500m from any town crowd. Great for caravans, campers, and tents. For guests with tents and without own refrigerator we have available big refrigerator that can be used for free. More than 70% of the camping area is afforested. Pitches are equiped with electricity connections. We have available wireless Internet in the whole camping area.
In walking distance from town center
Restaurants and shops are quite available close to the camp. As a tourist destination, town of Nin disposes of many quality restaurants with various choice of fish and meat dishes, and of pizzerias. There is no shortage of grocery stores. Post office, bank and cash machines are nearby.
Great place for surfing…
Sandy beaches in front of the camp offer perfect conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The main precondition is that there is enough wind. The most frequent wind in summer is light to moderate Maestral (NW), and occasionally can blow much stronger Bura (NE), more frequent in spring and in winter.

Cycling
Zadar – Nin – Vir surroundings offer ideal conditions for recreational cycling and jogging. There is a cycling trail along the main road from Zadar via Nin to Vir island 20km long. For off-road cycling there is a large number of dirt roads, roads through beautiful nature by the sea.
Gastronomy in Nin
Nin is rich with numerous restaurants offering local and mediterranean specialties. All restaurants are 500m to 700m or 10 minutes walking from the campsite Ninska Laguna. Most of them are in the town center of Nin surrounded by historical sights.
