he main building of the Czech Forestry Academy is located near the center of Trutnov. Right next to it is a city park with many interesting trees. Today’s forestry school in Trutnov has its roots in 1855, when the Czech Forestry School in Bělá pod Bezdězem was opened.
The first official requirement for the establishment of a public forestry school was a decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Mining of 1850, which proposes the establishment of a two-year forestry school. This plan was only realized by the Czech Forestry Union, when on May 1, 1855, the first half of the year began with 32 pupils at the Forestry Institute (Forst Anstalt) in Bělá pod Bezdězem, which then worked there for 49 years.
The Academy is thus one of the largest forestry educational facilities in the Czech Republic, with the exception of existing universities, for which it is not only a consulting center, but above all a training school. In addition to the creation of a large educational complex, there has been considerable practical benefit in the possibilities of permeability of individual fields for pupils and students.
