Places and monuments 

Dole has forty-eight protections as historical monuments. Sixteen buildings are classified, at least partially; the others are registered.

Religious heritage 

Dole has a rich religious heritage, which constitute:

• the collegiate church of Notre-Dame ( xvi ^th  century ), National Square, classified as historical monuments, elevated to basilica in 1951);
• the church Saint-Germain , of Azans, Church Street ( xviii ^th  century);
• the Saint-Fiacre de Goux church, rue de la Clauge;
• the Church of the Sacred Heart of La Bedugue, avenue Juin;
• the church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine de Saint-Ylie, rue du Canal;
• the Saint-Étienne church , rue Picasso;
• the Church of St. John the Evangelist ( xx ^th  century ), St John XXIII , listed since 2007 as historical monuments.
• the chapel of the Visitation College St. Jerome ( xv ^th  century ), Avenue Aristide Briand , inscribed with historical monuments since 1998. It has hosted the Karl Riepp auditorium since 2008;
• the Cordeliers convent ( xvi ^th  century), Rue des Arenas, rated for one party and a subscriber to one another as historical monuments. It now houses the courthouse  ;
• the chapel of the Hospital of the Holy Spirit , novel Bridge Driveway ( xvi ^th  century), listed as historical monuments since 1991, now the property of an individual;
• the Carmelite Convent ( xvii ^th  century ), Rue Mont-Roland, part for part, since 1997, and filed for another, since 1999, as historical monuments;
• the convent of the Ladies of Ounans ( xvii ^th  century), Grande Rue, now houses the school Charles Nodier  ;
• Chapel of the Hotel Dieu ( xvii ^th  century), Street Bauzonnet, listed since 1928, historical monuments to;
• the chapel of the house of orphans ( xviii ^th  century ), Rue Pasteur , listed since 1993, the historical monuments;
• the chapel of the Hospital of Charity ( xviii ^th  century), Grande Rue, listed since 1949, the historic buildings;
• the Bon-Pasteur chapel , avenue Eisenhower;
• the chapel of the Collège de l’Arc, rue du Collège de l’Arc;
• the chapel of the Collège Notre-Dame du Mont Roland, rue du Collège de l’Arc;
• the oratory of Truchenne ( xvii ^th  century);
• the Protestant temple , Rue des Arènes.

Civil heritage 

Dole has a rich architectural heritage that constitutes:

• the ancient source of Goux, Rue des Sources;
• Roman Villa Goux ( i ^st  century to iii ^th  century ) in the village cemetery;
• Bridge Romanesque ( xii ^th  century ), Allée du Pont Roman to Azans;
• the St. Jerome College ( xv ^th  century ), Avenue Aristide Briand , listed monuments since 1998;
• the Arc of college ( xvi ^th  century ), Rue du Collège, rated for part in 1964 and registered to another in 1996 with the historic buildings. Today it houses the archaeological museum;
• Grammar College, rue du Collège de l’Arc, educational establishment built in 1583, it operated until 2007. Since 2015, it has hosted the studio of artist Aurélien Benoist;
• the Hospital of the Holy Spirit , novel Bridge Driveway ( xvi ^th  century), listed as historical monuments since 1991;
• former City Hall ( xvi ^th  century), Rue Jacques de Molay , listed building, since 1927
• the Masonic Lodge ( xviii ^th  century ), Quai Pasteur Street and Beer, registered since 2009, historical monuments
• around twenty buildings, mansions and houses including:
  • the Hôtel de Champagney ( xvi ^th  century ), Rue Pasteur listed building since 1971;
  • the Hôtel Richardot ( xvi ^th  century), Rue des Arènes, listed as a historical monument, Sep 2004 ;
• the Hotel Froissard ( xvii ^th  century ), Rue Mont-Roland, classified and registered for a part for another historical monument since 1982;
• the Hotel-Dieu ( xvii ^th  century), Street Bausonnet, listed since 1928, historical monuments to;
• the Granvelle palace ( xvii ^th  century) Granvella Street, partially listed building, since 1941 ;
• the Charity Hospital ( xviii ^th  century ), Grande Rue, registered for a party since 1948, and for another, since 1949, as historical monuments;
• the home orphan ( xviii ^th  century), Rue Pasteur, classified since 1993, historical monuments to;
• the Louis XV  bridge , at the confluence of the Loue  ;
• the house ( xviii ^th  century) Goux, which belonged to Charles de Dortan , Dole MP in 1789;
• the bridge Parting Moutelles ( xix ^th  century ), listed building since 2003;
• the theater ( xix ^th  century), Rue Mont-Roland, classified as historical monuments since 1996 ;
• the halls ( xix ^th  century), National Place;
• the town of Goux ( xix ^th  century), Rue Jacques Prevert .

Military heritage 

• City walls ( xvi ^th  century ), registered with the historic buildings , since 1991;
• Bernard Barracks ( xviii ^th  century ), Rue des Arenes, recorded for some and another for classified in 1975 as historical monuments ;
• Pavilion Archers ( xviii ^th  century), Rue du Prélot, registered since 1984, historical monuments ;
• Pavilion Blunderbuss ( xviii ^th  century) Promenade du Pasquier, registered to a party and classified for another in 1971 with the historic buildings.

Green space 

• the garden Faulx ( xx ^th  century ), place name „to Faulx“, “  remarkable garden  “ rated to 8300  m ² , with more than 1200 plant species.

Gastronomy 

• Gingerbread
• Fish-based dishes ( carp , trout , pike, etc.), very present in the Doubs.

Cultural heritage 

Dole has two museums:

• The Museum of Fine Arts and Archeology , Rue des Arènes, open since 1821;
• the birthplace of Louis Pasteur , Rue Pasteur , opened in 1923 and classified as historical monuments.

Dole also has a municipal library – media library , installed in 2000 in the old Hôtel-Dieu of the city, Rue Bauzonnet, classified since 1928, with historical monuments; but also a theater, Rue de Mont-Roland, listed as historical monuments, since 1996, and an auditorium , installed since 2008 in the chapel of the Saint-Jérôme college , Avenue Aristide Briand , listed as historical monuments , since 1998. Finally, we can mention the existence of a large modular performance hall, the Commanderie, hosting shows and concerts.

Events

• Concerts and shows all year round, at the Commanderie, Rue d’Azans.
• Exhibitions all year round in the city’s museums.
• Music festival , in the old town, every June 21.
• Christmas market , Place Nationale, every December.
• Circus and Fanfares, fanfares festival, throughout the city, during the weekend of Pentecost.
• Ephemeral galleries, artists‘ exhibitions throughout the summer period.
