The Jablunkov Elementary Art School was founded in 1956 and lies on the Czech-Polish-Slovak border. Since the 2016/2017 school year, the school has been housed in a city building on Bukovecká Street in Jablunkov. It is already the 15th place of work of the Basic Art School. For better accessibility of pupils, the school has a total of 4 separate workplaces.
The allocation of the school on the border is also reflected in the overall concept of teaching, where the local dialect is used and pupils are introduced to the local culture.
- The first teaching at the independent Elementary Music School took place on September 1, 1956.
- A four-member choir taught here and 88 pupils attended the school.
- In 1961, it was renamed the Folk Art School.
- In 1990, the name was changed again to the Elementary Art School.
- Since the school year 2016/2017, the school has been located at Jablunkov, Bukovecká No. 479. It has been the 15th place of work since its independence.
