The first Stone Age farmers settled here and left us a unique legacy. Thousands of years later, people built new monuments. Hundreds of churches, many with roots in the Middle Ages, testify to Falbygden’s prosperity and central position.

The museum’s task is to manage and convey this rich cultural heritage from ancient times onwards in various ways. Two suggestive and lavish exhibitions show in text, sound and image the area’s antiquity and history.

The museum’s large collections of cultural-historical and archeological objects, the extensive image and document archive and the library are additional sources for our history, sources that create memories and make us remember.
