Finland

Forssa is known for its annual big events like in the first weekend of August held Holjat Festival as well as car enthusiasts get together in Pick-Nick, the biggest event in Northern Europe.

Forssa is a town and municipality of Finland. A tradition is annual Suvi-ilta Maraton – the second biggest marathon event in Finland. Suvi-ilta Maraton takes place a weekend before Midsummer. There is also a fairly popular harness racing track in Forssa.

Culture 

The Forssa Cultural Center operates in a historic spinning mill area . The city has several museums and a theater and also hosts annual events.

Parks 

There are 110 parks in Forssa with a total area of ​​303 hectares. The following are the most important parks: 

  • Ankkalammi Park : located south of the market square, in Ankkalammi in summer swans, the park was renovated in connection with the market renovation
  • Company Park : a park next to the old spinning mill area, sometimes also called Wahren Park
  • Central Park: Loimijoki River The next natural park after the company park, where there is also a football lawn
  • Talsoila Park: a partly built, partly natural park in Talsoila, implemented as a public park open to all, unlike the previously closed Company Park
  • Rantapuisto: Opposite the central park in Rantalanmäki, a park along the river
  • Harjupuisto: a pine-dominated park forest on the border of Kaikula and Vieremä
  • Mäkilamminpuisto: a pine-dominated park forest bordering Mäkilammi in Vieremä
  • Lamminranta Park: as the name suggests, a park around Lamminranta
  • Paavola Park: The park located in the Paavola district is partly built, partly forest forest
  • Siurila Park : A park in the middle of the Viksberg residential area with two water ponds, an artificial creek and a fountain
  • Salmistonmäki and Loimalammi: the natural area is located in the eastern part of Haudankorva, right on the border of Tammela

Many parks are mainly natural green areas, not actively managed “parade parks”.

Education 

There are currently eight primary schools in Forssa .  Haudankorva Primary School was abolished in the spring of 1998. The Central School and Kuhala School were transformed into integrated schools with all grades when the former Haudankorva Primary School students were transferred to Kuhala and Kuhala Secondary School was merged with the Central School. At the same time, Kuhala High School was abolished and high school teaching was centralized at Kuhala High School, which took the name Forssa Joint School

Primary schools (grades 1-6) 

There are five primary schools in Forssa. Koijärvi school children who study promoted by the Center in the northern half.

Institutes of higher education 

In addition to primary schools, there is a joint school in Forssa , which was reorganized in 1997 after the merger of Linikkala and Kuhala high schools and re-introduced its old name and continues the traditions of Finland’s oldest rural school . 

Vocational training is the responsibility of the Southwest Häme Education Consortium. The group combines the Forssa Vocational Institute for Youth (FAI) and Faktia Oy, which provides vocational adult education . Both youth and adult education operate on the same properties, excluding Faktia crane training. Faktia is the only educational institution in Finland that offers tower and mobile crane training. 

Vocational higher education is provided by the Forssa unit of Häme University of Applied Sciences .
