Urban morphology
The town of Gennevilliers does not have a real town center. A project is underway and work should start soon in order to make the Town Hall district the city center (esplanade, shops).
The city is divided into several districts:
- The Village (old Gennevilliers) which corresponds to the original village around its church.
- Le Luth is a district located to the north of the city and which. corresponds to the massive urbanization of the city.
- The Garden City.
- The Alms Ditch and The Chevrins.
- Les Agnettes.
- Les Grésillons and Chandon-Brenu.
- Le Petit Gennevilliers.

Transport
Roads
Gennevilliers is located at the crossroads of two motorways , the A15 and the A86 . The RN315 extends the A15 to the Gennevilliers bridge , with in particular an underground section called the Sévines tunnel and a second semi-underground.

The city has since 2009 an annex of the University of Cergy-Pontoise . This takes the form of a university institute of technology and a university teacher training institute.
Health
The city has two Municipal Health Centers. The first, located Rue de la Paix in the Village district, provides various consultations, in particular with allergology , dermatology , or even gynecology , among many others. An infirmary and a dental service are also installed there.
Saint-Jean des Grésillons hospital, located on avenue des Grésillons on the edge of town with Asnières-sur-Seine , specializing in functional rehabilitation .

Businesses and shops
Very close to the capital and endowed with a good infrastructure, the city has become an important industrial center of the region, as well as a logistics hub with in particular the headquarters of the Calberson company ( Géodis group ).
The Port of Gennevilliers ( Autonomous Port of Paris ) is the most important of the four major ports of Île-de-France: metallurgical products, minerals, waste, solid fuels, petroleum products, construction materials, machines, vehicles ( Renault ), agricultural products and foodstuffs pass through it.
In the services sector, Gennevilliers is home to the head office and main center of activities of Europ Assistance .
As far as retail is concerned, the city has three predominantly food hypermarkets bearing the Carrefour , Leader Price and E.Leclerc banners . A shopping center on the edge of the Parc des Chanteraines , called Espace Chantereine , has several brands such as Boulanger , Casa , Fnac , and Lapeyre . Two restaurants with the brands of Hippopotamus and Tablapizza are also installed there.

Places and monuments
The town includes several monuments listed in the general inventory of the cultural heritage of France.
- The Pasteur college is built on the site of the Gennevilliers castle. Part of the castle was still visible until 1998 (date of the restructuring of the Pasteur college). The old outbuildings of the castle are still present, at the corner of rue Jean Jaurès and rue Carnot.
- The Sainte-Marie-Madeleine church.
- the refuge of the SPA Grammont : In 1903 , a lost animal facility, funded by a grant from Gordon Bennett.
