Glencar Waterfall

Ireland

Ireland’s highest waterfall.

Glencar Waterfall, also known as “The Devil’s Chimney”, is situated near Glencar Lake, 11 kilometres west of Manorhamilton in County Leitrim and 13 km from Sligo Town. It is particularly impressive after rain and can be viewed from a lovely wooded walk. There are more waterfalls visible from the road, although none is quite as romantic as this one which is mentioned by WB Yeats in his poem ‘The Stolen Child’.

The facilities on site include Car Park, Picnic Area, Public Toilets, Playground and Tearoom.
