Historical Center Overijssel has an extensive collection of visual material: photos, posters, old maps, drawings, films and much more. Image collections are a wonderful addition to our ‘paper’ archives. Sometimes visual material belongs to a particular paper archive, but often it also concerns individual acquisitions or stand-alone collections consisting entirely of visual material, such as a collection of a photographer.
We make our images accessible via the online image bank, here you can search for all kinds of search terms such as place name, period and people. Material belonging to a (paper) archive can be found both via access to that archive and via the image bank. The online image bank is constantly being expanded: new digital files and descriptions are available on our website every day. View our image bank of Overijssel and / or of Deventer .
What about the (copyright) rights to images?
Our collections contain images on which copyrights or other rights are based. We are not allowed to publish digital copies of this online. There are also documents whose copyrights or other rights are unknown or not yet regulated. In that case we cannot publish the material online. We are constantly working to clarify as many rights as possible. However, if this has not yet been successful for certain pieces, it is unfortunately not possible for us to investigate this for you on request. We can provide you with as much information as possible, on the basis of which you can find out the copyrights yourself or arrange permission for use.
