The Institut supérieur de musique et de pédagogie de Namur is a training institute for music. It belongs to higher music education, but differs from the classical conservatories in terms of objective and specialization . It focuses more on church music in particular .

It was founded in 1970, after the Second Vatican Council by analogy with the Flemish Lemmens Institute . It built on a tradition of ecclesiastical choral music , strongly represented in the Franciscan monastery in Namur. The institute contributed intensively to the translation of Latin liturgical hymns into French.

Due to its favorable location, there is also an intensive collaboration with the Catholic University of Namur .
