Jørgensens Hotel

Denmark

In a historic setting in the heart of Horsens is Jørgensens Hotel with a view of the pedestrian street life. The beautiful old mansion is decorated like a modern hotel, which at the same time manages to be in dialogue with its long history. A stay at Jørgensens Hotel is a sumptuous experience.

Accommodation in the center of Horsens

Jørgensens Hotel offers an exceptional location in the center of Horsens, in the middle of Denmark’s widest pedestrian street.

The Lichtenberg Palace is a special place in the consciousness of the locals. A gathering place for people in the city and surroundings – and a natural stop for the many guests who visit the city throughout the year with its busy trade and many major cultural events.

Jørgensens Hotel is a modern, well-run hotel that manages to be in dialogue with its famous history and the present at the same time. The hotel has 59 rooms in the categories Good, Better, Even better and The Best … and then completely outside the category: Royal Suite. All rooms are well equipped with private bathroom, TV and large, comfortable Norwegian beds.

Gastronomic pampering

Restaurant Eydes is located in the vaulted cellar below Jørgensens Hotel. A eatery where people feel like dumping in to get a bite to eat. Here, good food is served to locals, to the businessman and woman, to the travelers, the lovers and the quality-conscious. For lunch. For dinner. For everyday and for the special events.

Also look into the beautiful wine bar, where you can meet for a glass of wine, a cup of coffee or some snacks. The wine bar has a large wine shop, so you have the opportunity to take the wine home.

The Lichtenberg Palace

The building that today houses Jørgensens Hotel was built in 1744 as a residence for the successful noble merchant Gehrdt de Lichtenberg and his family. The beautiful Baroque mansion worthy of preservation has many architectural features both outside and inside. Above the beautiful door portal you can for example see the words ” Wass Gott Beschert Uns Niemand Wehrt”.

In 1749, Frederik V spent the night in Lichtenberg’s Palace. On the same occasion, de Lichtenberg was proclaimed as state councilor by the king.

After de Lichtenberg’s death, the hotel was used as an inn from 1813. In 1849, the building was bought by Anders Jørgensen, who gave the place its current name, Jørgensens Hotel. He made the fine building accessible to the citizens of the city. It was a special place for special occasions. Since then, Jørgensens Hotel has been a place where locals and tourists can enjoy themselves, experience good service and be impressed by the impressive setting.
