The Kempentoren is a project of the Torenbouwers foundation. After the Flaestoren was successfully built on Landgoed De Utrecht -central in the Kempen- in 2011, the idea arose to build a new tower. Now on the edge of the Kempen.

The Torenbouwers found a suitable location in the newly to be developed Spoorpark in Tilburg . Here they built a tower that looks out over the city, towards the Kempen: the Kempentoren.

The original design of the Flaestoren turned out not to be high enough for placement in the Spoorpark. The Tower Builders made a completely new design for the Kempentoren, based on the design of the original tower.

Stichting de Torenbouwers is a collaboration of contracting firm JA van Gisbergen, Gebroeders van Gisbergen, Reijrink Staalconstructie and Van Dal Houthandel. In addition, Luijten-Smeulders Architects, Adviesbureau Tielemans Bouwconstructies, Pontifax, ASR and Ondernemend Hilvarenbeek are involved in this project.
