Kerepes is a town in Pest county, Budapest metropolitan area, Hungary. It has a population of 9,903 (2008). Olympian Zoltán Sándor was born here.

  • The Hungaroring , the site of the Hungarian Formula 1 race, was built on the border of Kerepes and Mogyoród .

  • The famous writer Magda Szabó spent the last years of her life in Kerepes, where she died in 2007 . on November 19 .

Location 

It is located next to the main road 3 , halfway between Budapest and Gödöllő ; 20 km from the capital Clark Adam Square . The largest part of the settlement with an independent name is Szilasliget . It is crossed by HÉV 8 , and the Szilas stream also flows through it. It is surrounded by the forests of the Gödöllő hills , among the surrounding hills we find the 328-meter Bolnoka.
