Finland

Kurikka is a town and municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Southern Ostrobothnia region.

Kurikka is recognized not only as a dynamic town of trade and business activities but also as an important hub of agriculture. Tens of small to medium-sized furniture manufacturers create design furniture to the Northern European market. Kurikka is at the same time comfortably small and big enough, with excellent services nearby, and a very nice nature surrounding the whole town.

Residents of Kurikka can live in a modern fashion in the town centre or in a peaceful countryside setting. The spirit of the town includes a lot of entrepreneurship and activity, features typical of South Ostrobothnia – and also more and more international elements. Nature

The Kurikan Natura sites are the Metsäkylä forest and Isokorpi, the grove areas of Pitkämönluoma and Pässilänvuori, known for their flying squirrels, as well as Levaneva, Haukilamminneva, Iso Kakkurinneva, Kurpanneva and Mustasaarenneva, which are involved in the mire conservation program. 

Waterways

There are a total of 34 lakes in the area of ​​the city of Kurikka, the largest of which are Kivivi and Levalampi artificial lakes, Liikapuro artificial lakes and Iso Madesjärvi. 

The groundwater area found in Kurika in 2010 is the largest in Finland. Its research was started in 2014. It is planned to take water from it to Kurika and Vaasa , which will receive domestic water from surface waters.

Transportation 

Kurikka is located in a good traffic location: Kurikka has good road connections to Seinäjoki , Vaasa and Tampere , among others . Highway 3 from Helsinki to Vaasa and main road 67 from Seinäjoki to Kaskis pass through the city . At the western end of Kurika on the Sarvijoki River, touching the city border, there is also Highway 8 from Turku to Oulu. In addition, the Suupohja railway line from Seinäjoki to Kaskis runs through the city. Today, there is only freight traffic on the track, passenger traffic ended in 1968 . The nearest passenger railway stations in Kurika are Seinäjoki and Parkano .
