Lengyeltóti is a town in Somogy county, Hungary. The town can be found south from Fonyód, along the highway to Somogyvár, the old seat of the county. The highway went from the Lake Balaton to the southern part of the country. The town sits on the top of a hill. Its name: Tóti meant Slavonic people in Hungarian, so probably the old village was populated partly by Slavonic people. First charters mention the village in 1116.
Sights
- Roman Catholic parish church is a special monument. Even in the 1990s, they did not know of the Árpádian church hidden inside the eclectic church built in 1882 , but during the renovation that began in 1989, it became clear that the remains of a much older church formed the southern part of the church. Archaeological excavations and monumental restoration have enriched us with a 12th-century church.

Culture, sports
As part of the annual Somogyi Spring Festival , Lengyeltóti also organizes a cultural festival, the quality of which is raised not only by the introduction of local cultural associations and art lovers, but also by nationally known performers.
The Association for Lengyeltóti – Somogyért was founded in May 2000 and has been operating as a registered organization since November 14, 2000. The association, which employs forty to fifty people , organized the “Careed, Floral Porta” movement in cooperation with the municipality and local NGOs . They also organized a wandering fishing competition and take part in the Tóti Days. The Lengyeltót Association of Retirees takes part in city events with similar activity, they perform with their choirs, and they also take part in tree planting and landscaping work.
The Lengyeltót City Sports Association has three departments. Their table tennis team has been in the NB III since 1982 . competes in the class, the head of the department is Árpád Benkő. The chess department is in the county class I with varying success, led by István Ilosvay. The local football division participates in the county championship with adult, youth and adolescent teams alike.
The Devil’s Dance Ensemble was formed in the city in 1991. The foundation is named after, among others, Márta Németh, who carried out prominent ethnographic and ethnographic research in the area. The current artistic director of the ensemble is Tibor János Tóth. In 2008, they entered the National Children’s Dance Anthology Gala, the Operetta Theater, with their choreography Children’s Weddings. Currently, the youth ensemble has 25 members, and a group of 15 children provides the youth.
Conductor László Keresztes founded the Lengyeltóti Brass Band from the current and former students of the local music school in October 1998 . The band, which has been performing classical wind orchestral pieces, film music, hits and jazz, has regularly performed at various events in Lengyeltóti and its surroundings since 2001 , as well as at international meetings in Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Germany and Transylvania. In April 2000 , he won second place at the International Children’s and Youth Jazz Festival in Budapest , and in July of the same year, the Hungarian Wind Music Associationawarded the ensemble with a gold rating in the show category, and in the IV. He won third prize in the big band category at his National Competition .
