The town of Les Ulis has various places of culture. The most important is the Boris-Vian cultural center , theater , concert and dance hall run by the company 3.5.81, it has eight hundred seats and an exhibition hall of one hundred and eighty square meters. Two cinemas are installed in the town, the UGC complex with four rooms in the shopping center and the Jacques-Prévert room with two hundred and ten seats classified Art et Essay. There is also the François-Mitterrand media library , the green theater and the Radazik musical café. A space called the „Dungeon“ brings together the cultural associations of the town.

A new town between urbanization and countryside, Les Ulis were designed with vast green spaces between large groups, totaling nearly one hundred hectares of parks and gardens.

  • Three parks dot the territory:The Parc des Ulis in the north, at the limit of the municipalities of Bures-sur-Yvette and Orsay, consists of a large meadow bordered by a wood and embellished with a lake of twenty seven thousand square meters. The Jardin des Lys , an urban park, in the center, is equipped with a green theater and educational greenhouses .A third park to the south-east, on the edge of Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard, hosts family gardens .
  • Several public squares or gardens are set up in the residences and at the foot of apartment buildings. This enhancement of natural spaces and the blooming of the town have earned it to display three flowers in the competition of towns and villages in bloom.
  • The woods in the north have been identified as sensitive natural areas by the General Council of Essonne.
  • Les Ulis is a recent town. The previous human occupation, mainly agricultural, did not leave many monuments. However, two farms remain, that of Courtabœuf, whose buildings millstone date from the xviii th  century and that of the Grand Vivier also millstone of the xvii th  century became the center of emergency . It was equipped in the 1950s with greenhouses , now transferred to the Urbain park .
  • The new town was then built by renowned architects, thus Georges-Henri Pingusson who designed the buildings of the Hautes-Plaines. Municipal parks were also decorated with works of art such as standing stones of slate of Trélazé , also called „talkers of Bathes“ Haber installed by the sculptor in 1968, the „Arche Palaver“ by Frederick Jaudon inaugurated on July 14 2006.
