Mälar Hospital in Eskilstuna is Sörmland’s largest hospital. The hospital is responsible for the care and treatment of primarily residents in the northern part of the county (Eskilstuna and Strängnäs municipalities) with almost 140,000 inhabitants.

At Mälar Hospital, medical, surgical and psychiatric care is provided, both acute and planned. The hospital has joint clinics with Kullbergska Hospital in Katrineholm and provides specialist expertise that is used for patients throughout Sörmland and in some cases also in Västmanland.
