Mons Memorial Museum

Belgium

The Mons Memorial Museum (formerly Mons Military History Museum ) is a museum space opened in 2015 in Mons ( Belgium ) on the site of the former Water Machine .

It has an extensive collection of military objects covering a period from the Middle Ages to the xx th  century , confronting the visitor with the military history of the region of Mons.

The course, particularly centered on the events of the two world wars, follows an original scenography imagined by Winston Spriet and Martial Prévert in which new technologies are used to shape the historical content. Testimonies from Belgian, American, British and Canadian civilians and soldiers rub shoulders with German stories and form the real common thread of the visit.

The museum, adapted to the blind public, also organizes temporary exhibitions to complete the purpose of the permanent route.
