Museum Gouda is the city’s museum. It is housed in a historic building, originally a medieval guesthouse. We manage 40,000 objects and organize attractive exhibitions for a wide audience. We have the following vision and mission:

We want to be a cultural meeting place for everyone in and outside Gouda. We want to connect people, offer an authentic experience and allow beauty to be enjoyed in a special place.

Mission
Museum Gouda manages the city’s collection. Parts of this collection are unique to the Netherlands. This also applies to the (medieval) city of Gouda. We bring the collection and the city to life with appealing presentations. We connect the stories we tell with the present. With this we want to achieve that people love the museum and Gouda. And that people better understand their own living environment and that of others.
