Nádudvar is a town in Hajdú-Bihar county, in the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary.
Tourism
- Nádudvar Thermal and Beach Bath. Few know that Ferenc Pávai-Vajna, a geologist , first drilled in Nádudvar in the 1920s. Then when he found the thermal water here and was not allowed to create a bath, he tried it in Hajdúszoboszló .
- Looking back on a 300-year history, black pottery used to be a part of everyday life, giving the city a reputation. Today, the role of folk art, and thus its significance in tourism, has come to the fore.
- Every year, two cultural events with great interest are held: the Shepherd’s Day in April in connection with the celebration, and the City Day in September, in the tradition of folk crafts (the city’s specialty is the Folk Craft Vocational School here).
History
Nádudvar is an ancient settlement, named after the reeds in the floodplains and the fences from it. Its first written mention is in 1212 in the Oradea Register . In 1461 , King Matthias gave Nádudvar the rank of a market town. During the War of Independence in 1848-49, when the Kossuth government moved to Debrecen , the Holy Crown and his entourage spent one night in the city .
1904 . The railway line to Kabara was opened on 1 June , connecting it to the Szolnok – Debrecen – Nyíregyháza – Záhony railway line . The line was built in 1971 . operated until 31 December .
The city rank was 1989 . received on March 1.
