  • Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Parish was founded in the 15th century . It was re-established in the 17th century after Turkish destruction . His registers have been kept regularly since 1717 . The church underwent a major renovation in 1904 . At this time the church was given beautiful colored windows and the furniture was also replaced. The main altar was renewed, side altars were made.
  • The history of the Reformed Parish dates back to 1542 , when the population returning to the village after the first Turkish invasion was visited by a Protestant preacher. His words and preaching heard ears and hearts: it was through his work that the Reformed Parish was established in Nagybajom. From 1542 there was an undisturbed church life until the end of the Rákóczi War of Independence , and it was possible to introduce self-government (presbyterian system) and school education. The first teacher in Nagybajom was Pál Szalánki. The Counter-Reformation eliminated all possibilities, and the Reformed only had the opportunity to practice their religion again after the Tolerance Decree. 1780 – 1820The church was built between the 19th century, then the pastor’s apartment and finally the school together with the cantor’s apartment. Unfortunately, only the facade wall of the church has survived from these buildings. The school burned down in 1852 as a result of a fire, but the following year a new school was waiting for students wishing to study on the site of the old school. The cantor teacher’s apartment was also renovated this year.
