Narva Bastions

Estonia

n the 17th century, Narva was a border town between Sweden and Russia, of which Sweden has wanted to become one of the regional capitals.

The author of the bastions as defenses is the military engineer and architect E. Dahlberg, under whose leadership seven new bastions were built: Honor, Gloria, Victoria, Fama, Triumph, Fortuna and Spes. The existing bastion Vrangel was renamed Pax.

All bastions except Fama have been preserved. Guided tours of the Victoria Bastion began after the restoration. The bastions of Honor and Gloria are also planned to be restored.
