Outotec

Finland

Outotec Oyj was a Finnish technology division in a listed company , which was founded in 2006 by Outokumpu Oyj separating technology operations into a separate company. It was a design and expert company rather than a manufacturer and subcontracted most of the production of its products, only the key components itself.

Business

Outotec has been not only a technology company but also a project company that sells complex mining technology and plant projects, which it first designs and then implements itself or together with its partners. Outotec assembles the supply chain, plans and delivers the process and trains the customer to manage it.

Outotec supplies its technology and processes to metallurgy and mineral processing. Outotec’s technologies are used in the production of base metals, the processing of iron ore , ferroalloys and titanium-containing raw materials, the production of sulfuric acid , alumina and light metals , exhaust gas treatment, coking , bioenergy , oil shale and oil sands , and industrial water.processing. With the help of processes developed by Outotec, aluminum-containing clay, paper sludge and the slag piles generated in the process are transformed into a raw material for synthetic sapphire, a biorefinery or copper.

Alongside traditional ore and metal technology, Outotec’s environmental and energy business has risen. Mines and refineries consume large amounts of water and energy, but Outotec’s applications significantly reduce consumption.
