Queen Teuta’s Pearls

Welcome to the unique nature of seven Baćina Lakes. Although just a few kilometers away from the City of Ploče, they are a place of untouched nature and rich wildlife. Two tunnels connect lakes with sea and river in the hinterland, thus keeping the water constantly fresh. Lakes are perfect for a family daily trip and as an escape from overcrowded coast. The legend says that Illyrian queen Teuta loved spending time at Baćina lakes and that is why are they called Queen Teuta’s pearls. Ruins of ancient Roman village Praetoria were found on Baćina Lakes. Cycling / walking trail goes all around the lakes and some of the activities you should definitely try are traditional boat photo safari, kayaking or stand-up paddling.
