The former Baasrode shipyards in Dendermonde are more than 3 ha of industrial heritage. The Province is expanding the site into a lively heritage site about shipbuilding and inland shipping at the end of the 19th-20th century with:
- 19th century workshops with the original machines
- Two dry docks with two historic ships:
- The non-motorized spire ‘Lauranda’ that was built on this shipyard in 1928.

- The motorized striker ‘ALYV’ that was built on this yard in 1938.
- The non-motorized spire ‘Lauranda’ that was built on this shipyard in 1928.
- The collection of Scheepvaartmuseum Baasrode vzw with a specialized library and an extensive archive in the former master house and new building
- The internationally renowned School for Ship Model Building non-profit organization that builds correct scale models of the ships that once started there
