The Psychiatric Hospital in Opava is a medical facility established by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. It is a hospital designed for the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of mental illnesses, including child psychiatry. The hospital has 863 beds, on which 6,500 patients are treated annually. The catchment area of ​​the hospital represents 1.3 million inhabitants of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The hospital offers comprehensive, highly professional psychiatric, psychological and socio-health care. It also provides protective inpatient treatments, participates in scientific research activities, provides training for its own staff, performs health education and awareness-raising activities and, last but not least, provides the necessary economic and material conditions for the smooth running of the hospital.
