STRETTA – A BREWER’S JOURNEY
My name is John. I’m a passionate beer brewer – And I believe that stories and beer are best when shared. I’d like to share both my beer and it’s story with you.
The search for great-tasting beers has long been a passion in my life. Over the years I’ve tried to take every opportunity I could to sample and discover new styles, flavours and textures. As my interest grew, I decided to get into home-brewing in an attempt to recreate styles that I couldn’t find locally. I was hooked from the start. Every chance I got would turn into a brew-day. My life from then on revolved around improving the craft in both science and art. All of my recipes have been meticulously adjusted and re-brewed until I found the perfect combination to provide maximum drinking pleasure.
In just a few years Stretta’s beers have topped the charts on all major beer review sites. We are extremely grateful for this and promise to continue doing our best to keep you coming back for more!
THE STRETTA CONNECTION
My father’s family lived on Strait Street, or Strada Stretta as it was called back then. It has always been a place that conjured wonder in my mind thanks to the stories I listened to whilst growing up. Strada Stretta had two very different sides; one was kept and civilised – this was the side where my grandparents lived. The other side, past the law courts was where the street built a notorious reputation for itself.
It was here that drink, sex and swingin’ jazz thrived, and Strait Street revelled in it.
Even in my childhood, years after its decline, Strada Stretta’s connotations were still to be whispered and giggled about on the school playground.
The reputation it so deservedly acquired as Malta’s starting point for drink and pleasure is where Stretta Beer gets its inspiration. A line of beers designed to deliver an experience of pure sensory pleasure.
Stretta’s humble beginnings didn’t stop it from becoming a recognised craft beer in Malta. Named after a street renowned for its lively spirit and revelry, this is a brew for the carefree spirits.
