Szeghalom

Hungary

Szeghalom is located in the northern part of Békés county , the center of the Szeghalmi district , on the eastern edge of the Dévaványa plain (but is also often mentioned as the capital of Sárrét ). At the end of the 15th century , it was a market town and then depopulated. It has been a continuously inhabited settlement since 1711 , and a city since 1984 . It is located on the right bank of the Berettyó , only a few kilometers away, where the Sebes-Körös and the Berettyó converge , accompanied by beautiful floodplain forests . And if we turn our backs on the rivers, it is the Great Plainwe see the “sea plane” region. The meanders cut during the regulation of the rivers are beautiful excursion places and popular fishing paradises. Here, even in small patches, you can find the flora and fauna corresponding to the geographical location . The industry spared the countryside, only farming could get chemicals into the soil.
