The school was built in 1973 on the western outskirts of the city. At present, the school is attended by three hundred pupils from Terezín and the surrounding area. After extensive floods that hit Terezín in 2002, it was reconstructed to its current form. The school is barrier-free and thus enables the education of physically handicapped pupils.

Inside, in addition to the main classes, you will also find equipped professional classrooms for teaching foreign languages, physics, chemistry, biology, music education, a school kitchen, and workshops.

The school also focuses on teaching foreign languages. In the 1st and 2nd classes, the project English takes place across subjects, where students get acquainted with the basics of this language. From the 3rd grade, they have English for 4 hours a week and from the sixth grade they choose another foreign language. We offer French, Russian, German and Spanish.

Part of the course is a frequent visit to theater performances, musical performances, various preventive programs, galleries, museums, excursions to interesting places.
