Ulvilan church (including St. Olav’s Church ) is in Ulvila located in a medieval stone church , which was built at the turn of 1400-1500-figures. It is one of the most significant and best preserved medieval greystone churches in Finland , and also the only surviving sign of the medieval town of Ulvila . The patron saint of the church is St. Olavi .

Ulvila Church is located along the Kirkkojuova , which separates Saarenluoto from the Kokemäenjoki River , in Ulvila’s Vanhakylä, a couple of kilometers from the city’s city center, Friitala . Before the current stone church, there were two or three wooden churches on the same site. Ulvila Church is the oldest medieval stone church in historic Satakunta . The interior vaults with pilasters form a unique entity in Finnish medieval stone churches, and the end decorations of the exterior walls were also the first in Finland. In the church’s armory you can see one of the finest 17th-century tombstones in Finland, which were once the tombs of celebrities buried in the church. To the west of the church is a belfry built in the 1750s . The cemetery surrounding Ulvila Church was inaugurated in 1347. The church was restored in 1930 and renovated in 1970 and 2004. During the summer it serves as a road church .

The connecting road 2440 to the east of the church is part of the historic Gulf of Bothnia coastal road , and with the founding of the medieval town of Ulvila, the church became the second end point of Huovintie, which dates back to prehistoric times . The National Board of Antiquities has classified the church and its surroundings as one of the nationally significant built cultural environments .
