Veikkola is an agglomeration in northern Kirkkonummi . It is located about 30 kilometers from Helsinki along Turunväylä , very close to the borders of Espoo and Vihti . The center of Kirkkonummi is located about 20 kilometers south of Veikkola.

Veikkola is one of the fastest growing satellite agglomerations in the Helsinki metropolitan area during the first decade of the 21st century. The agglomeration had 4,240 inhabitants in 2004, and 5,010 at the end of 2009. ^[2] A local newspaper called Kylänraitti is published in Veikkola .

The agglomeration will be built next to both the new and the old highway 1. Veikkola’s schools and the largest grocery stores are located near the roundabouts located at the intersection of the old highway 1, ie Turuntie, Lapinkyläntie and Eerikinkartanontie . Most of Veikkola’s settlements and services are in the vicinity of Turuntie. There is also newer settlement a little further away, for example near Lake Perälänjärvi.

Veikkola Sanatorium operated in Veikkola from 1929 to 1995 .

Services 

There are two primary schools in Veikkola , of which Veikkola School is from 1 to 9. The unified school of the classes and the school of Vuorenmäki are 1–6. classes primary school. Veikkola School was founded in 1899, and the current school building was built in 2004. Veikkola also has a health center , library , several kindergartens and a nursing home , as well as a sports park with a football field, a running track and a frisbee golf course . Veikkola has its own voluntary fire brigade .

Veikkola’s commercial services include three grocery stores, two gas stations (one of which is a so-called cold station), a kiosk, a few restaurants and some specialty stores.

Companies

The most significant companies operating in Veikkola are at least Delipap , which manufactures hygiene products , and Maston, which manufactures aerosol products .

Transport links

Veikkola is located along Highway 1, 35 kilometers from Helsinki and 135 kilometers from Turku . The southernmost part of Kirkkonummi is connected to Veikkola by road 1131 . Veikkola is served by Helsinki bus station U-lin 280. After Veikkola, buses will continue to Nummela , Vihti , Lohja and Karkkila , among others .

The planned Espoo – Salo direct line will provide a commuter train connection to Veikkola in the future .
