On October 1, 1985, the Tallinn Republican Narcology Dispatcher is established. On July 1, 1990, the medical institution was renamed Tallinn Wismar Hospital. On September 27, 1993, the state transfers the hospital to the city of Tallinn. The city hospital, which was liquidated on 01.12.2001, will be operated by Wismari Haigla AS.

Wismar Hospital is the only psychiatric hospital in Estonia that is mainly focused on treating people with addiction disorders. However, we also treat other, mainly non-mental, mental disorders. The hospital was established 25 years ago and was originally called the Tallinn Republican Narcology Dispatcher. Throughout its activities, the hospital has been located in a very quiet and peaceful area – on Wismari Street in the center of Tallinn, on the edge of Falgi Park.
