Yrkeshögskolan Novia is a Swedish-language polytechnic born of the merger of Svenska yrkeshögskolan and Yrkeshögskolan Sydväst , which started operations on 1 August 2008 .
Novia has about 4,000 students and a staff of 400. It is Finland’s largest Swedish-language polytechnic, which offers degree-oriented youth and adult education, education leading to a master’s degree and in-service training. Novia has 34 degree programs, including in the following areas; technology, maritime affairs, social affairs and health, the economy, culture, and the natural resources and environment. Novia operates in six different locations in four different locations: Vaasa, Ekenäs in Raseborg, Pietarsaari and Turku.
